Modifying Existing Orders

Shipping:

Most* orders ship within 48 hours. This means that most* orders are packaged and handed off to UPS within 48 hours. Delivery times are in addition to the 48 hour shipping guideline. We ship Monday through Friday, once daily at about 4pm Eastern Time. UPS does not do Saturday or Sunday pick-ups. Orders placed after 12pm (noon)will ship within 48 hours from the beginning of the next business day. Orders placed after 12pm (noon) Friday will ship within 48 hours from the beginning of business on Monday.

The following is an example of expected delivery timeframes, assuming your order is placed before 12pm (noon) on Monday:

*Some orders require additional time to ship. Special orders will ship as soon as we receive them, expected timeframes are usually listed in the product information. Skates that require sharpening will need one additional day for shipment. If your item is backstocked we will notify you, and your item will ship as soon as stock is replenished. Shipments to Canada require extra shipping time as outlined here.

We ship USPS Priority Mail, UPS ground or FEDEX Ground at the ground rate unless requested otherwise. Some items are drop shipped from manufacturers or distributors as many skating products are custom manufactured or built to order. We no longer ship to hotels or any other location that requires a time period for delivery.

Inventory and Delivery Time:

We ship from our own facilities in Delaware and New Jersey, as well as from eight regional distribution facilities and directly from several manufacturers. This flexible distribution method helps us to speed delivery to you as well as to provide a very wide array of merchandise as well as the ability to custom produce almost any type of skate with exactly the components you desire. From time to time, we may automatically substitute an upgraded product or component if the exact item requested is discontinued. We try to work closely with our suppliers to ensure you receive what you order.

No additional shipping is charged on back orders. Ground shipping is free for orders of more than $299.00 in the Continental US (see below for orders outside the Continental US.) Domestic overnight or two day air is available.

Shipping of heavy or bulky items such as hockey pads and luggage or multiple pairs of skates may require a shipping surcharge. Occasionally, multiple products must be shipped from several locations and this can also result in excess shipping charges. We will email you with an estimate of surcharges and you will have an opportunity to cancel your order at that time with no penalty.

Foreign Orders:

We are temporarily suspending all non-US orders, except Canada. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

All Foreign, non-US, APO, FPO, Alaska, Hawaii, and US Possessions are subject to additional shipping and handling charges regardless of order size. Shipping charges for AK and HI are calculated at the time your order is submitted. For US possessions or heavy or bulky orders, we will email you with an estimate of shipping charges and you will have an opportunity to cancel your order at that time with no penalty. After shipping cost approval, any Refused shipments will still be charged actual outbound shipping charges and any costs incurred by Skatebuys for return shipment. Refused items, except with our express written authorization, are subject to 20% restock charge. (See below for more foreign order information)

Canada: We are a Non-Resident importer to Canada. This means that you are charged the same prices for duties, customs brokerage and GST as if we were a Canadian company. All duties, brokerage fees and GST are included in the shipping price, calculated for one pair of average weight skates. There is no PST under this arrangement:

We reserve the right to surcharge for heavier weight or bulky shipments or to remote provinces if warranted. We will always contact you in advance and get your approval before doing so. For shipments in excess of the amount on our shipping table add 7% GST to the amount shown.

We currently ship once a week to Canada, generally Friday. It takes two days to Fort Erie, then whatever time it takes UPS to ship to your province.

All other non-US orders will take a minimum of two weeks to be delivered, regardless of shipping method. It takes time to complete the extra paperwork, consolidate the order, and merchandise is frequently delayed at customs. We will only ship using insurable methods. If you are willing to pay for the cost of ups, air mail or express mail shipping, we will be happy to ship using that method. Payment of all fees, duties, brokerage fees, taxes etc. are the responsibility of the customer in the country of receipt. Refused packages due to non-payment of these fees will result in the customer being charged the initial cost of shipping and any costs, including shipping and fees incurred by Skatebuys to retrieve the merchandise and a 20% restocking fee.

We cannot guarantee delivery date due to any delays in transit time or customs.
We reserve the right to refuse shipping to countries not listed on our shipping list. If you do not see your country listed, please e-mail us Because of fraud problems, we must limit our shipping policies. Orders from non-US cutomers will be fulfilled without question if customers are willing to wire tranfer funds. Please e-mail us with your request.

Returns and Guarantee:

15 day money back guarantee on any item returned unmodified in it's original packaging in "new" condition. New condition means blades not sharpened (unless sharpened by us), skates not used (worn wheels, etc.) tags must be on garments.

To return an item for any reason: You must contact us by e-mail for a return authorization or call us at 1-866-361-9306. We will issue a Return Authorization Number and shipping instructions. Requests for exchanges and exchange authorization numbers must be received within 15 days of receipt of the item(s). Return the item with the original packing slip and the Return Authorization Number which we will supply you. We cannot guarantee that we can credit you the purchase price if you do not receive a Return Authorization number. Returns shipped freight collect will not be accepted.


With few exceptions, a 20% restocking fee will be applied to all returns which do not result in an exchange. Instances were a restocking fee is not charged included shipping errors on our part, defective/damaged merchandise, and returns for size.

We MUST receive returns within 15 days of issuing a return authorization number. Returns received beyond that timeframe will either be charged an additional restocking fee, or will be refused.

If packages are returned to us for any reason except for shipping mistakes on our part or with our express consent, you will be charged for both inbound and outbound shipping. You are responsible for original shipping on returns for refund, except for when we have made an error. You are responsible for return shipping for exchange. We will pay for one re-shipment on items returned for size, up to two for custom skate orders of above $200 when you order boots first for fitting (re-shipment for exchanges are the responsibility of the customer on International orders). If we make a mistake in an order, we will pay for your return shipping. CUSTOM ORDERS MAY NOT BE RETURNED FOR ANY REASON. Custom orders include boots manufactured to order, Twizzle skating dresses, monogrammed items, and many skate packages above $500. We will work with you to properly size boots on high-end skate orders. See individual pages or e-mail us for details.

You should expect to receive your refund or exchange within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (5 to 10 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

Refused Packages: Refused shipments will still be charged actual outbound shipping charges and any costs incurred by Skatebuys for return shipment. Refused items, except with our express written authorization, are subject to 20% restock charge.

Modifying Orders Already Placed: Due to our commitment to process orders as quickly as possible, we are unable to change, add items to, delete items from, and/or cancel any orders once they are submitted. Although we will do our best to work with you to remedy the situation, we cannot guarantee any changes on already placed orders. For more info about returns/exchanges, please see our above policy.

Notifications: We will e-mail you when your order is shipped, if an item is back-ordered or will be drop shipped from a manufacturer. You will be able to cancel back-ordered items without penalty at that time. Please see details about special or custom order items in each equipment section.
